But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2Peter 1:5-8 NKJV)
Here we are in November and pretty much at the end of the year. It has been a very interesting year for me. I started this year off in intense study that I believe the Holy Spirit led me into, and I did not at the time really understand why “this” study. Now, that I am here at the end of the year and I look back over this year, I understand a little bit better. The study was the book of Joshua and day-by-day I read chapter after chapter that gave me better insight on the careful care and watch of God over His people. I saw the character of God in every instruction He gave His people as He led them in one battle after the next. Every word He gave regarding their promised land, He fulfilled. He then led me to the wilderness account of His people, Israel, after He led them out of Egypt, their land of bondage. So, He led me to deeper insight of the fulfillment of His promise so that I would understand even more that He is ever faithful to His plans for His people, and though He was shedding light on some of the earlier days of Israel, He was saying, also, that He is still that same God today. He so carefully detailed these familiar stories for me and helped me relate them to my own life and my relationship with Him. He made sure I got a good look at the end result of His character when He brought His people into their land, and then He took me back to the beginning of their journey out of bondage to show me His character there. It was the same! He intentionally led Israel into the wilderness so that they could be purged from all unholiness and so that they would be prepared to possess their land of promise. It was a time of processing and preparation by God.
This has been my life this year. I have definitely been in a time of preparation and processing. I pulled back from many things, and people, got quiet and sat at the feet of Jesus to learn and listen. It’s been very interesting! I love how God is so intentional and never leaves anything to chance. It’s time to go in and possess the land as the people of God, the Church, the Body of Christ. The days we are in and the days ahead require that we take our position and live out that which God has prepared us for. Though we are at the end of a calendar year, we are at the beginning of a new season of possession within the Body. this is a time where great discernment is needed. There is newness all around us, and it is time to possess that which belongs to the Lord. There is a harvest ready. Are you ready?
New beginnings! Deeper insights! Greater revelations! Happy November!
